As a contemporary artist, the focus is on depicting hybrid characters through an experimental and contextual approach.
Working primarily with a diverse range of mixed media, visual arts, and fine art painting, the practice explores how we interrogate the definition of human changes, metamorphosis and adaptation to technology.
This includes examining the ambiguity of gender fluidity, exploring the hybrid forms in conjunction with humans, animals, objects, plants, robots and non-humans.
I am interested in how we absorb knowledge and life's experience, selecting the abstract figures that resonate for us, sometimes carefully, other times by accident.
The process often begins with collage, utilizing images from various publications such as fashion magazines, adult publications, newspapers, and entertainment magazines to create complex compositions.
It’s all about reinterpreting and reprocessing of images through my personal identity.
My artistic interest is deeply rooted in science fiction offering a fantastical escape from reality whilst celebrating diversity. The different layers and languages construct surrealistic compositions, creating abstract, political, and critical works with a satirical and comedic edge - reflecting the circus of life.
Furthermore, in a world where technology and human awareness are continuously in interaction and flux, I see my work evolving towards a more conversational, humanised approach.
